Why do you want to sell?
Each person will have their own reason for wanting to sell, from retirement, to wanting to do something completely different, or for health reasons or succession planning, but you should have a good reason for wanting to do so. In all cases, you need to give yourself plenty of time to build up to the sale and not expect an immediate disposal. You need to know what your priorities are before you decide to sell as they may well impact on how and when you sell.
Preparing the business for sale
You may think that your business is ready for sale straight away but there are a number of issues that you need to consider to ensure that you are ready to let go. You will need to put your finances in order, review your customer base, suppliers, management team, equipment and assets to name just a few!
