HMRC require full income to be included in your Tax return
We have been made aware via our professional institutes that HMRC are in the process of sending out letters to most directors and shareholders of small companies asking them to check that all of their income has been included on their tax returns.
We expect that most of our clients will receive this letter. It is a standard one and is not a precursor to HMRC opening an enquiry into your affairs.
Where we have prepared your personal tax returns, then provided that you have told us everything which might be relevant to your tax position, no action is required. However, if there is anything which you have not previously made us aware of, please do get in touch so that we can discuss what action needs to be taken.
In addition, if we prepare your personal tax return, you may be interested in our tax fee protection service which picks up our fees in the event of any HMRC enquiry.
