Self Employment Support Scheme
This scheme has been extended for a second and final grant capped at £6,750; please note that grants will need to be claimed directly by you unfortunately agents are not permitted to do this on your behalf. The first grant can only be reclaimed until 12 July 2020 with the second grant opening in August. Further guidance on the second scheme will be available on 12 July 2020.

Job Retention Scheme
Further details were released on this scheme including enabling employees to return to work on a part time basis in July. However, the furloughing scheme is closed to new entrants after the 30 June 2020 (effectively 10 June due to the 3 week minimum eligibility period).

From August the scheme changes so employers will no longer be able to claim employers National Insurance and pension costs. From September the grant will be reduced from 80% of wages to 70% (Cap of £2,187.50), reducing further to 60% (Cap of £1,875.00) in October. Further details can be found through the link below.

VAT Deferment
VAT deferment was for payments due between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2020. These payments will not be due until 31 March 2021. However please note that VAT payments due in July (this will typically be for the VAT Quarter 31 May) will need to be made unless a payment arrangement is sought from HMRC.

If you are struggling to meet any tax payments as a result of COVID-19. contact HMRC on 0800 024 1222 to organise a time to pay arrangement.
