Companies House changes - Harts

Companies House is currently undergoing major reform to improve the quality of information held and to comply with the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill which has now received Royal Assent.

As part of these changes, they are significantly increasing the charges for their services.

The increase in fees will take place from 1 May 2024 and we have highlighted the major ones below which are likely to affect you. There are also several other fees which Companies House charge and they can be found on their website at gov.uk.

  • Annual Confirmation Statement for a limited company – the cost for this will rise from £13 to £34 per confirmation statement.  This increase applies to dormant companies as well as active ones.
  • Formation of a Limited Company – costs will increase by £40 where this is done digitally.
  • Change of name – will rise from £8 to £30. Same day change of name will rise from £30 to £83.
  • Voluntary strike off – paper forms will rise from £10 to £44.

If you are utilising the Harts company secretarial services, please be aware that there will be increases to reflect the changes by Companies House from the 1st May 2024, if you have not yet received notification on this, or if you would like to discuss this in more detail then please do contact us at info@harts-ltd.com.
